Three weeks in Sweden via Erasmus
If we had to describe our experience in Sweden in one word, it would be the word “different”, but definitely in a very positive way.
Take the school system for example: Students have fewer lessons, and their classes often don’t start until very late in the day. Lunch is free and students get paid to go to school. Amazing, isn’t it? There are also lots of school branches and students can often choose freely between different classes.
While it was rather cold, the weather was often very nice, and we have lots of sunny days behind us.
Although Söderhamn is a very small town, you can still find things to do. It’s great for photography, secondhand shopping and just strolling around on a sunny day.
It is also incredibly well connected, so if you want to get out of town, just take the train and within 45 minutes, you’re in a beautiful city named Gävle.
Swedish people are also very good at English, so any questions we had were usually cleared up within a short time.
It was a great stay, and we would definitely recommend others to try Erasmus!!
